Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge

The Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge provides basic knowledge that is essential for pilots. This handbook introduces pilots to the broad spectrum of knowledge that will be needed as they progress in their pilot training. Except for the Code of Federal Regulations pertinent to civil aviation, most of the knowledge areas applicable to pilot certification are presented. This handbook is useful for beginning pilots, as well as those pursuing more advanced pilot certificates.

Airport Operations Area Video

Thank you for taking the time to review the procedures contained within this training program. This information will cover the information drivers need to know while operating on the Non-Movement Areas of the Airport. This training is inclusive of 14 CFR 139.329 Pedestrians and Ground Vehicles and requirements set forth in 49 CFR Part 1542 (TSA).

Air Operations Area
The Air Operations Area (AOA) consists of the restricted ground areas of the airport, inclusive of taxiways, runways and parking areas. In relation to airport security, the Federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) defines these areas as all areas contained within the airport’s security fencing, except the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA). Operationally, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) divides the AOA into two areas, the Movement Area and the Non-Movement Area. The Movement Area consists of runways and taxiways, with the Non-Movement Area consisting of ramps, taxi lanes and service roads.

AOA Badge
As of June 1, 2009, those needing unescorted access to the AOA will first need to complete the airport’s badge application and provide the documentation listed in the sponsor’s review of eligibility form. The airport will then submit the biographical information to the TSA for a Security Threat Assessment (STA) before issuing the badge. To obtain your badge print out and review the accompanied handout to use as a reference while watching the entire video.

Private Pilot Training Our training curriculum was developed to aid the student in reaching his or her potential in the shortest amount of time in order to save training dollars. Our program was devised by uniting the faster paced training programs of CFR Part 141 schools, with the newer approach offered by Part 61 schools. This combination allows us to tailor a program to meet your needs in the minimal amount of time. While the average Private Pilot takes his or her check ride at 73 hours, we believe we can bring that substantially closer to the required 40 hours for the rating. That's an average savings of 33 flight hours.

Instrument Rating While the Instrument Rating is said to be the hardest of all ratings to attain, it can certainly be the most rewarding. Too many times we may have to cancel a trip to a place with beautiful weather only because we couldn't get out of our local airport due to weather. Your Instrument Rating will help you get passed that and on to the good times ahead. Training in the North East will help to ensure you know how to make the real life go or no-go decisions, and you make them accurately. Contact us today to find out more about what this rating can do for you.

Multi-Engine TrainingLooking for a little more power, room, payload, or luxury? If you answered yes to any one of those, Multi-Engine planes have something for you. We can help you with your multi-engine training, including in-line thrust multi-engine, and Commercial Multi-Engine ratings. Just wait till you see how much fun you can have in a multi-engine plane. And believe me when I say this, you'll be smiling ear to ear the first time we shut down one engine and you see yourself flying along without any problems at all.

Commercial TrainingTime to move up? Have your sights set on a career in aviation? Or, perhaps you just wish to sharpen your skills and become a more professional pilot. Any way you slice it the Commercial license will help you to meet all of those goals. Not only will you be able to be paid to act as a pilot, you will also find yourself much more capable, and knowledgeable in your daily flying. Let us show you how rewarding it can be.
